Director Corporate Program Management – Abu Dhabi

Job Purpose:

      • The job holder manages the proper set-up of large, cross-functional corporate projects and programs and ensures the efficient implementation of these along a pre-defined project management process and within the MNO’s existing project management and governance structures.
      • This will include facilitation and running of Steering Committees meetings for assigned projects as well as support of senior project managers in regular project management activities like planning, issue & risk management, reporting.
      • The job holder reports directly to the VP of Corporate Program Management.

Principal Accountabilities / Key Result Areas:

      • Support and coaching of senior project managers in development of key project deliverables like project scope, objectives, structure and schedule along project management process
      • Prepare regular project reporting, in particular around status, issues and risks for Executive Steering Committee meeting, Board presentations and other senior executive boards and committees
      • Facilitation, preparation and running of associated Executive meetings
      • Facilitate and drive project escalations and prepare associated decision and mitigation proposals
      • Facilitate cross-functional coordination
      • Provide senior management and the CEO with clear visibility on project status and main issues/risks
      • Monitor project performance and ensure consistency with global corporate targets
      • Detect and avoid decisions that are inconsistent with the project’s and corporate objectives
      • Provide coaching and project management support to staff for other projects outside the direct scope of the PMO

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies:

      • Minimum 8 years’ experience in related work area, with practical project management responsibility
      • Out of which at least 5 years’ experience in telecommunications industry
      • Proficiency in project management tools & standards, concepts and mechanism

Education:

      • Postgraduate degree in business and/or management and/or Industrial Engineering

      • Very broad telecommunications understanding from business & technology topics to corporate functions
      • Organizational awareness
      • High degree of flexibility
